The other day (in Dec to be exact) I celebrated yet another birthday, all praises to God! It just so happened my birthday also fell on sabbath and as such I wanted a nice outfit that was true to my likes, yet still classy and most certainly modest especially for church. This is what I came up with. I knew before hand I wanted something with gold and leopard. I originally wanted to somethng leopard with either red, or with an off-white/cream gold. However after all was said and done, I wore navy, beige, gold and leopard.
The Navy Blue is a dress I’ve had for about a year, I never wore it because it is sinfully short, but I never knew what to do with it. I loved the military look of it and the gold sea buttons and love love love the neckline that doesn’t plunge and show up what belongs to no other man, but myself!! However I think it worked perfectly with this outfit as a top, and for the price I got it for I couldn’t pass it up. (I think I paid like $14 or less for it).
The lace skirt was actually given to me by someone. Call it a trade or pass-me-down that couldn’t fit or whatever! I couldn’t care, that skirt is gorgeous and to boot FREE!! I loved it so much in this combo.
The beige jacket I got for $25 care of my bestie who got it as my birthday gift, and I love the open feel and the golden buttons (I have a thing for leopard, zebra, gold, green…..ok so I like texture is what I’m trying to say).
The shoes were a steal for only $15 bucks!!! And I LOVE them, I was told they seem like hooker heels and me being already tall (5.9) these well pushed me to 6ft! But I loved it! And with a high instep this was actually a closer fit to my instep than most other shoes I own.
Tied everything together with my gold belt and a small beige-brown clutch (not pictured)
