My Feedback

Honestly I wasn’t expecting much from these products, let’s face it…when you go natural you start to ban any non-naturally formulated lines, and I just thought hey “another commercial brand trying to get at the natural group”. Plus as you can see from up above, the ingredients are far from natural! But as I always say, things just may surprise you. Here’s how I felt about the products after trying them out:

Shampoo

Needless to say I am not so surprised this did nothing for me, no bells no whistles, why? My hair seems to hate all things shampoo and this my friends is yet another one to that list.

Cowash Conditioner

I’ve been on the hunt really for a cowash conditioner, I’ve tried I believe two others so far and while they did fine, they aren’t anything I am too crazy about. This however was a winner! I applied, especially after the shampoo left my hair feeling crunchy and dry in one wash, and didn’t expect anything major. Boy was I surprised. My tangles were melting away, and I was able to actually detangle with it. Thus far a big LIKE IT in my book!

Deep Conditioner

This deep treatment is quite the funny one. It says to apply then rinse immediately, but that doesn’t work for my hair. So I left it to sit for about 30 mins. On application it went on smoothly, my hair felt great on contact. After rinsing my hair felt pretty nice, it wasn’t mega soft, but I could definitely feel some moisture. I still think if it had more natural ingredients it would be a winner.

Curling Custard

I was a little hesistant about this one, my track record with “curling cremes/gels/custards/souffles” have been horrible. I can’t seem to win with those things usually, it’s bascially 50/50, win some, loose some. This custard had my hair feeling a little blah (more so dry) but the definition was pretty impressive.

Shine Serum

The shine serum really packs a punch in shine. Used it over my twists and they did glisten.

Overall I’d say this line is worth the try, especially for those on a budget, or those who want something easy to find locally. Of the products I tried, the Cowash is definitely on my “I’d get that again” list. Pantene gets a B+ for effort and affordability, it would be even better if it was less chemically enhanced and rather more natural. Other than that, I say it’s worth trying it out, if even once.

  1. I would like to try the cowash conditioner. Pantene seems to do well with conditioners so I would like to try it. Your review convinced me even more to give it a shot.

  3. I have never tried this line I would love to try the cowash because so of the other cowash products didn’t do to well on my hair

  4. I have use the co-wash conditioner and was surprised at how soft my hair felt afterwards. I was quite impressed with the results and would love to try more of the Truly Natural line.

  5. I’m looking for something that will give me a bunch a moisture, help me detangle my hair in a short wash time in in between my once a month 1 1/2 hour wash sessions. I would really like to try the Cowash Conditioner it seems to be the product I’m looking for. My email is skmannie@yahoo.com. Thanks for the review, I’ve been wondering about these line of products for a while but I’ve been to timid to try. =)

  6. I’m not entering the giveaway, but I needed to ask…. Will you do a follow-up later on regarding how these things works in the long term? I love silicones – usually – but since I only do co-washes now (hair hates shampoo too) I was wondering if these products wouldn’t build up on my strands over time. I notice that they all have silicones. :-/

    • Great question @islandpotpourri:disqus!! I certainly will be using the co-wash condish so I will follow up on that, I am pretty sure that shampoo won’t be used on my hair again, and I think the shine serum will be used over twists or when I flat iron mostly. The deep conditioner is still in the iffy bin, lol. But I will do a follow up.

  7. I have tried the co-wash just this weekend and LOVED it. The consistency and performance were awesome. I tried the curling custard on my son’s (16 months old) hair and it did dry hard and crunchy but had great definition. Next time around I’m going to apply a leave-in underneath and/or an oil on top. Which in turn leads me to wanting to try the argan oil serum for both my son and myself. I would prefer not to include my email address publicly but it is in my Disqus form. I can also be reached at my twitter name. Thanks for the giveaway!

  8. I’ve tried the deep conditioner in the naturals line. I was skeptical, but happy with the results. It moisturized my hair, leaving it soft after rinsing and during my post-wash moisturizing routine. I’d definitely like to try the clarifying shampoo just to see if it will or won’t strip my hair. Thanks for the giveaway! If I could follow along with Ky G, I’d like to be reached via twitter (@Yvette_Awo)

  12. I’ve never tried the Pantene for naturals hair care line-I wasn’t aware that it exitsted until I read this article. Since the shampoo that I currently use (and love!) has been discontinued, I’d like to give the clarifying shampoo a try.

  13. I would like to try the product line. My hair also hates everything shampoo. I stick to vinegar and water.

  14. I am interested in trying the new line from Pantene. I was a big fan of their shampoo and conditioner before I went natural, and so I am excited about these new items. I just started trying to co-wash more frequently, so I would like to try the co-wash conditioner. My email address is nichar525@hotmail.com. Thanks for your consideration.
