Introducing the tartelette 2 in bloom palette – featuring 12 brand new, never-before-seen shades.

Don’t you just love a yummy deep conditioning treatment for your natural hair? I know I do, but what if we’ve been deceived into thinking a deep treatment is something it isn’t? Well, today I am looking at a REAL protein treatment, what it takes to make one really effective, why and how, and as well a moisturizing deep treatment and how to avoid hydral fatigue (hair soaking in and loosing too much water).

This post is geared at showing you the ins and outs of doing these properly. Nikky of GreenBeautyChannel brings facts and information in an easy to understand way. I have learned tons from these two videos alone, and am sure you will too!

Here’s a great look on doing a protein treatment and ensuring that we are using ingredients that will actually penetrate our hair shaft and not just sit on top.

Next up it’s deep conditioning, the right way! Too often we let conditioners, especially horrible ingredient-ridden conditioners sit on our hair for far too long. In this video, Nikky goes over how to do a proper deep treatment

Your hair needs love+gentle attention at all times, so give it some.

  1. Would it be OK to use this deep conditioner before and after getting your hair colored? or will this cause the color to not take?

    • That’s a great question Wesline. I shall forward this on to Nikky for her insights. I think you should be ok to do a deep treatment prior to coloring (does not have to be the day of coloring, can be before), and perhaps a protein treat following with some type of moisture to give the hair some strength after the process.
