Beauty Bar: Michael Todd Skincare Review Part One

Introducing the tartelette 2 in bloom palette – featuring 12 brand new, never-before-seen shades.

When you’ve got sensitive skin like myself, it can be a chore trying to find the right products. Especially ones that won’t leave you with an allergic reaction. I found the Michael Todd products via youtube and was intrigued that they were not only natural but targeted for sensitive-acne prone skin.

Today I’m doing a intro review (and will follow up in around December with an extensive view of prolonged use) on the kit I have, and I hope it will give you insights into whether or not this could be for you.

The Kit comes as a neat travel-sized kit including their cleanser, toner, moisturizing lotion, mask and a scrub – which ultimately are their most well liked products based on reviews. I enjoy that the kit is small enough to take with me in a purse if I choose, but is still big enough to get multiple use out of it.

When I first got the kit, I was skeptical because everything just seemed so–tiny. Needless to say, I quickly found out that a little goes a long way.

The Cleanser

S'well Bottles - 160x600

This dark charcoal looking stuff is not your average cleanser. It comes out of the pump in an almost liquid-cream-serum (yeh, weird to place the texture really), and it applies almost as though nothing is happening, but once a little moisture hits it, it foams up (not by much though). I notice it leaves my face feeling refreshed and clean

The Toner

The toner is light and refreshing. I don’t find it to be drying as most other toners tend to be on my skin. I find that the toner leaves my skin feeling fresh and afterwards I haven’t noticed any peeling or irritation so that’s always a great thing!

The Other Products

So far I haven’t really used the moisturizing lotion as much as would like yet to give a conclusive first thought. I will say it doesn’t dry me out, and it applies smoothly. Other than that, I’ll leave my final thoughts after I’ve really used it a lot.

I am not a huge fans of masks and scrubs (which is odd considering when I was younger I was on a beauty ritual every week doing either or) these days – it could be I got so used to not doing them as often anymore that now it’s hard to jump back into the habit. Either way, I am waiting till I’ve used both of these products more before I chime in with my real thoughts.

If you’re interested in trying out the Michael Todd Skincare kit, I’d say go for it. I really like that they use natural ingredients and that the company’s focus is to avoid using toxic things in their products.

While I was sent this product line to do a review, please know that the opinions expressed are completely my own unbiased views.
