Product Claims/Description

For all Hair Types. The Mane Choice Green Tea & Carrot Deep Treatment will penetrate the hair shaft like you’ve never seen before. It’s packed with biotin, green tea, carrot oil, which immediately begins repair on damaged hair. It doesn’t take much of the conditioner to rescue your strands, and was formulated to promote growth and length retention, strengthen, fight against breakage and shedding.

There are a few things that must be present in a product for it to woo me just by seeing/interacting with it: packaging and smell! I’m a sucker for anything beautifully made, and anything that smells divine. This product smells more so like clean-tea (if that makes any sense). It doesn’t have a distinct scent of any one note. It doesn’t smell bad, but it’s not my favorite scent in the world, it just smells clean. As far as the packaging, I admire the black sleek look of it. The product comes packaged in a slim-line dark opaque black bottle, with the label completely decked out with full instructions, ingredients, uses and warnings. This makes it super easy to see just what you need to do while in the shower (or however you wash your hair). On a special note about shower water, If your water is “hard” you may have poor results,  try reading some Water Softener Reviews and get the best hair you can get!

As for the consistency, it’s creamy. It’s not runny at all. It’s a thicker type of conditioner, which honestly had me a bit weary, because my hair doesn’t really like super thick conditioners that doesn’t have a slippery feel to them. The consistency is however great for being in the shower and avoiding major mess with tons of product falling everywhere.

This product truly surpassed my expectations in performance. I honestly was not expecting any great results. Yes something good, but nothing great because of how picky I know my hair is. But boy was I wrong. The first time I used this, I left it in for about 50 minutes covered with a plastic cap. I utilized heat for about 10-15 minutes of that time, and for the rest, just let it sit while I completed some tasks. When I rinsed it out, I was surprised to see I had slip in my hair. Going on my hair, this wasn’t a conditioner I’d consider “slippy” but as it got rinsed out, the slip just kept appearing. I tried this product over the course of 3 months and every single time, whether or not I used heat, I got the same results: stronger feeling hair, less breakage, slip on rinse, a little shine. Can you say happy?!

At $17.99 per 8oz bottle this product falls into the mid-range for conditioners. It’s not super expensive, but it’s not cheap. But for quality ingredients I’d have to agree that is priced fairly.

You can get tons of usage out of the one bottle. I’ve been using the same 1 bottle for the span of the 3-4 months and just as the label says: a little goes a very long way! Gotta love that.

The only drawbacks thus far are the fact that the product is only available online for now, so if you’re not an online shopper, you’re just out of the good stuff. Also, since the product is in a bottle, it’s sometimes a little hard to get the product out of it. Other than that everything is just fine and dandy.

Overall I would recommend this product to a friend, and I totally have to quite a few. It’s just a good deep treatment especially for hair that’s feeling brittle, dull and crispy! If you’re on the market for something to protect your tresses from the harsh winter, this is for you especially.

  1. Awesome, through review Sasha. I agree about the clean tea smell lol. I had the same initial reaction but was pleasantly surprised by the performance as well :)

  2. Loved your review! I used this conditioner for the first time last week. I sat under the dryer with a plastic cap for about 30 mins. Before I thought I my curls were heat damaged but once I came from under the dryer my curls popped! I was pretty shocked. I’m going to continue using for a few months too to see the long term results.

    • Wow! That’s so awesome! Don’t you hate when your hair has you all thinking it’s busted and a lost cause? Smh! But this conditioner is definitely a staple rotation when it comes to a good moisture-protein boost. Thanks for stopping by Char! :)
