Introducing the tartelette 2 in bloom palette – featuring 12 brand new, never-before-seen shades.

Good evening lovelies! It’s Monday, and while it may seem gloomy outside it doesn’t have to be your mindset. We are only a few days from a much needed holiday, and time to really spend celebrating the warmth and love of family. Today’s the perfect day to inspire someone to be better at all the good things they seek to do.
In fact today is a celebration for me, my mom is celebrating her birthday to today (yay!!! Happy Birthday Mommy!) and over the years while we may have our differences, our ups and our downs, we’ve totally had the consistency of love and none the less she’s inspiring – reminding me to push through all adversity and to always seek to do better. I’m also really happy that Glam and Nissan got together and created this really neat Haute Haven’s campaign, geared at empowering women!

Sometimes as women, it’s so easy for us to get caught up in the “I want to do this but can’t”, “I failed now what?” and the “I’m not cur out for this” because we fear greatness or we fear being someone who pushes past the crazy moment of despair and turmoil. Think of a time you saw some other woman who truly inspired you, why did she do that? Was it her confidence? Was it her perseverance to go-get what she says she will?

You see, today I was also inspired by this really neat video featuring Cathy Hobbs. For a lot of you who don’t know, I’ve been a silently obsessed person for interior decor, and have stalked and watched all the DIY and home decorating channels for years (literally)!! Because I just love it, and I think it kicks my designer self into a happy euphoric bliss just seeing spaces go from blah to ah-mazing! Due to that,  it’s awesome and inspiring to see an African American Woman not only set out to become good at what she does, but to thrive at it! Meet Cathy Hobbs:

Admit it, isn’t her space gorgeous?! And that apartment in NYC is certainly a one-of-a-kind deal. Cathy is featured as one of the #HauteHaven’s for Nissan and Glam Media. Talk about cool! That has me thinking, if I push myself to do bigger things, I too could be  sharing and celebrating with brands or people that resonate with what I do in design, or here on my blog. You see, we may think that we can’t accomplish something, but realize and know, we are so capable of having it all if we just set our hearts and minds to it. With much trials and errors, we too can become that woman inspiring others to lead a trailblazing life. And let’s take a moment to talk about that car! Neat right? I can’t wait to own my own ride! With its stylish looks and premium interior, the Nissan Altima is just as much as an individual as you are. Not fitting into one mold is what makes the Nissan Altima not only unique, but very exciting!

Tell me below, which women inspires you? And how are you blazing your trail to inspire others?

  1. I draw inspiration from many different women..few of who were mentors to me while growing up. One of my celebrities that I look up to is Regina King. #BLMGirls

    • Ohh Regina is pretty cool! As far as celebs, I like Kelly- more so her fashion sense and her drive to always do better, and I really admire Lupita as well. There are others, but I am so not big on the celeb scene so I don’t want to butcher anyone’s name hehe.

      Thanks for stopping by Kim!

  2. I have several women that inspire me as well. No favoritism here lol. Women such as Tiffany Davis off YouTube for example inspires me as a mom. I do my very best to be an example to women as well. You never know whose watching or secretly admiring you as a person. #BLMgirls

    • So true, we never know who is already watching us and looking up to us, so it’s always a good thing to do our best and continuously inspire others, because we just never know. Thanks for sharing Neosha!

  3. As cliche as it may sound, my mom is my inspiration. I have been feeling like giving up on my dream recently but just a call to my mom whipped me right back into shape :) happy holidays! #blmlove would love to follow each other!
