It’s been a whole month and 17 days into this new year and I am NOW just writing my first post of 2014!!! Crazy right? I hope you all had a fab Valentine’s Day and President Day Weekend. I’ve been rather mia but only because life around these parts have gotten crazy hectic and even at times, internet land was down in my neck of the woods (aka at home).
Now that I am back, you may notice a few changes. The blogazine looks updated and fresh, a push towards it’s new direction. Being that I am a classic-modernista (I love simple classical chic things with modern flair), I wanted for the longest while, a site that not only breeds information and quality content for you all, but that would be easy on the eyes and truly a reflection of me. I am NO WHERE near done with this update, in fact I have tons more to do. But I must say I am pleased with the direction this is taking. Feel free to tell me below how you’re liking it too.
I’m off to a fresh start. I’m looking forward to once again doing hair and beauty features on the site. If you’d love to be featured, do let me know. I’m also looking forward to having a few contributors on the site. This would be a volunteer non-paid contributor position in which interested approved participants write blog posts for Afroniquely You. They would have a guest-author badge, links back to their own site and some other perks. Interested in becoming one of the contributors? Email me!! (send an email with the subject: Contributor to firstname.lastname@example.org)
The year ahead
This year I am really looking forward to picking things up with my Graphic+Web Design. I design websites, craft up printable goodies and can help you make your presence online and in print be fabulous. If you’re looking for a graphic designer, or a web designer be sure to contact me so we can work on your next project.
I also really want to see this blog inspire and empower more young women and men to be who God created them to be, naturally awesome individuals. My aim is to continue to write articles that will highlight our natural beauty and as well give inspiration and help for our lives outside of hair. I also would love to see this platform blossom into something that far expands from natural hair and beauty and into a global outlet for all who want to stay true to themselves.
I know I’ve slacked off on posting for quite some time, and honestly, I had lost my spunk. I felt as though what I wanted to voice wasn’t coming out as I had envisioned and somehow that got me in a spiral of not posting as much. This year I’m back! I’m ready to get back to why I started posting in the first place: to help you!! If you have a topic you’d like me to write about please do suggest it below in the comments.
The TBCH Challenge took a downfall last year due to some unforeseen shortcomings. I debated starting it up for this January, but decided it’s probably best not to. Instead, I opted to start the sessions back up for Summer 2014!! This way we all have enough time to prepare and I also can possibly get a few sponsors to gift the challengers a few goodies for their efforts.
Nothing is impossible at all! Through Christ everything imaginable is totally possible!
All in all, I want this year to be one of difference. One of simplicity, one of impact, one that showcases Christ in my efforts. One that illustrates the natural’s journey, and one that leaves each and everyone of us: inspired and revived for what’s ahead! I hope you’re here along for the ride with me.
