The other day I told myself I really need to pick my DSLR up again and reconnect with it. I haven’t really taken photos in a long time, but I have a true affinity for lifestyle+portraiture photography. My friend shared his 5OOPX page with me and I started to fawn over the lovely images I was reminded of clicking the heart button on by tons of photogs, and also this stunning photo:
Browsing through and just falling in love with more pics via Pinterest and across the web made me really tell myself that it’s time, time to truly learn my camera, and truly learn the art of photography. I’ve been eyeing Christina Greve Lifestyle Photo Class for quite a while now, because her images are all so lovely! And as faith would have it, she decided to do a giveaway as well on her course!!! squeals** My dream is to be able to win a free seat in, or if not, then one day be able to buy my way in. Either way, her class seems like the perfect course for me. It is self paced, completely digital and really covers a lot of ground in natural lighting, manual photography and more importantly lifestyle and portraiture photography that I absolutely love!
Ever since I was little, I’ve loved beautiful imagery. Something about seeing flowers captured in a stunning way or seeing the sun-kissed skin of an amazing portrait shoot, or being able to create a fantasy through photography like Amanda Diaz does – I’ve just always been compelled to it. It’s been my dream to take stunning blog photos like Shirley B. Eniang does and to rock at feature photos on my hair blog, and my portfolio. Let’s face it, photography is way to speak to so many different things in our lives.
Ultimately get into Christina’s course! Like yes please! But other than that, I want to master manual photography and natural light, and also learn to use lights. I have the very basic kit right now, a Canon T3i and it’s two kits lens, a 18-55mm and a 70-300mm.
Are you a photography lover too?
Overall, I can’t wait to plan out a photo challenge so I can push myself to learn the wonderful art of photography and praying and hoping I am also the winner of the awesome free seat into the lifestyle photo course (pray with me please!). I’ll be sure to do a post when I figure out my photo challenge and plan completely. I’m so ready to get over the bad photos hump (and in another challenge, also learn to take photos of myself more and not be camera shy and awkward). Till then, be afroniquely you!
